TDD: Twitter Driven Development

“Should we make the software 10% faster or make it crash less?”

Open source development on GitHub is driven by stars. Stars are driven by getting people to know and talk about your software. To get people to talk about your software, you will have to get some buzz on the social networks.

And the stuff that sells on Hacker News and Twitter isn’t really driven by the end users’ best interest.

Useful is replaced by coolio, weird, “holy shit, that is fast? can you make it even faster than that, please?” and “I bet node.js could do it a lot faster!”

This is the new TDD: Twitter Driven Development.
